Chris “Xephyr” Burton has lived in Texas his entire life. Raised in the rustic isolation of the panhandle, he has made his spiritual and physical home in the verdant state capitol for twenty years. Attracted by the luxurious and bountiful flora and fauna, the lazy river, and the deeply interwoven musical cultures, he has built his life here among loving friends and family.
Much of his career has been spent working for some of the big names of the city — IBM, Dell, and the Austin Chronicle, to name a few — as a software developer on various systems. These days, his niche has been development in and around a particularly popular web commerce system.
Politics have been an ongoing interest for over a decade, such that he has been a delegate to several county- and state-level Democratic party conventions, and has participated in political campaigns for party and public offices. What attracts him most is the degree of accessibility to the workings of government provided to the average person within these conventions.
