Observations on Texas Politics and Grassroots Action

About

This blog reflects the political and philosophical views of a Texan, a father, and a Democrat. I would like a government that fairly regulates all trade and provides education, health, and support services for all of its citizens.

I support:

  • Regulated legalization of cannabis
  • Ending the drug war
  • Ending occupations of Iraq & Afghanistan
  • Elimination of incarceration for all non-violent crime
  • Free health care and education for all citizens
  • Replacing “free trade” with “fair trade” and local commerce

The fate of our city, our state, and our nation is upon our shoulders, with the closer bodies needing our support more than the farther ones. Only through our participation does government “get better” or do better.

Each of us has an obligation — a sacred duty — to take part in our government. We must let our ideas and opinions be heard by our representatives. We must encourage the best and brightest among us to serve for all of us. We must reach out to our neighbors and friends and encourage them all to be part of that which makes us all stronger.
